Newsflash: George Bizos in the Dock at the CTBF!

George BizosThe man who defended Biko, Mandela, Sisulu and even Morgan Tsvangirai – human rights activist George Bizos will find himself in the dock at the Cape Town Book Fair, which opens in just three weeks’ time.

There, Bizos will be cross-examined by a formidable duo: Cape High Court judge Dennis Davis and former Minister of Education and current MP Kader Asmal, who will probe aspects of Bizos’ highly anticipated autobiography, Odyssey to Freedom.

The deliberations will take place in rooms 1.61 and 1.62 at the CTICC at 11 am, Saturday 16 June. It’s just one of over 400 events scheduled to take place over the four days of the Fair. We anticipate that the “gallery” will be filled for this fascinating discussion – be sure to arrive early!

The Cape Town Book Fair will take place in the Cape Town International Convention Centre from June 16 to June 19, 2007. The fair will host exhibitions by publishers from Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. More than 400 events including readings, book launches, panel discussions and seminars will take place during the fair. Tickets are on sale at computicket.com.
